Altree Capital Junior Investment Analyst
About the roll:
Altree Capital is seeking a meticulous and motivated Junior Investment Analyst to join the firm and support its Investment and ESG teams in the growth and development of the Altree Kadzi Africa Fund. This pioneering fund advances gender-lens and climate-aligned investment opportunities across Africa.
The Junior Investment Analyst will be a core member of Altree’s investment team, providing analytical and operational support across the full investment lifecycle. The role will involve pipeline screening, market and company research, financial analysis, and support during due diligence and transaction execution. Post-investment, the Analyst will contribute to portfolio monitoring and value-creation activities.
This role offers strong exposure to impact investing, private capital markets, and fund operations in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting investor engagement activities, including meeting coordination and marketing support
- Conducting pipeline screening, company research, and portfolio company analysis to support investment theses
- Assisting with financial modelling and the preparation of investment memoranda, under supervision
- Supporting investment processes, including ESG due diligence, gender lens (GEM) assessments, and data collection
- Assisting with portfolio monitoring through data entry, performance tracking, and preparation of routine financial and operational reports
- Maintaining accurate financial, ESG, and portfolio records
- Providing administrative support to the investment team, including scheduling, document management, and maintaining organised records
- Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and organisation of all financial and administrative documentation
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in private equity, venture capital, asset management, professional services, or SME finance
- Exposure to early-stage investment processes, including sourcing, due diligence, and preparation of transaction documentation
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, well-organised work
- Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in impact investing, gender equality, and climate action in Africa
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with high ethical standards
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and work independen
Preferred Qualifications:
- ormal qualification in investment analysis, accounting, finance, or business administration
- Familiarity with development economics in Africa
- Basic understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) concepts
