Our Story
Altree Capital has been managing investment funds in Africa since 2006. Its flagship fund, the Altree Africa Fund, was the best-performing fund amongst its peer group in 2021 on a 1, 3 and 5-year risk-adjusted basis and since inception in 2006.
Altree Capital also managed an African Credit Fund from 2014-2018. Altree Capital outperformed its benchmarks by more than 10% annually for both funds. Altree Capital is launching the Altree Kadzi Gender Climate Fund that will provide growth capital to women-founded, women-led, women-oriented businesses and businesses that are large employers of women in sub-Saharan Africa, where technology can be used to scale.
Altree Capital will implement sustainable, climate-smart and gender-inclusive policies and strategies across its investee companies and their ecosystems, empowering small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in the value chains, with a focus on skills development and value creation, empowering women, ensuring climate action and transforming Africa.

Altree Capital is comprised of award-winning portfolio managers, industry-leading research analysts, top policy makers and respected economic strategists from across the region.
Our team consists of established practitioners with years of hands-on operating experience at leading asset management firms, international finance institutions, multilateral development banks and global investment banks. We have collectively managed billions in African assets and have served on the boards for a number of Africa’s largest and most venerable public companies.
We promote gender equity both within our organisation and in our investments. We are developing our in-house female talent as part of our focus on achieving developmental impact across our business and our portfolios.
